about Ethicall

My name is Mirjam. Born and raised in Amsterdam, where I live with my husband and three daughters. I studied a combination of sociology and public administration at Vrije Universiteit. I became a global citizen by choice - working in Paris, studying in Barcelona, living in Argentina for a long time, and taking several months-long trips across Asia with my family.

As an HR director for a large international retail organization, I learned what impact I was able to make in shaping an organization’s ethical framework. I realized that trust and the ability to navigate conflict are essential skills in life. People often prefer to avoid difficult conversations. Based on experience we see that personal development focuses on content, whereas conflicts rarely revolve around content—they are about trust and connection. That is one of the reasons I founded Ethicall in 2023.

Ethicall is committed to normalizing workplace friction, by fostering the confidence that conflict can also be a source of strength and progress. Ethics serves as the guiding principle in this process. Ethics and ethical behavior are broad concepts; at Ethicall, we prefer to describe ethics as a guide to desired behavior.

Within organizations, ethics can come under pressure in different situations and for various reasons. How people handle this tension depends on the skills and experiences they have developed. Ethicall helps to enhance these skills.

Ethicall supports individuals and organizations in three ways: through mediation, (external) confidential advisory services, and training. We offer these services in both Dutch and English, working with individuals, large (international) companies, and smaller organizations in the public sector. What sets Ethicall apart is its positive perspective: instead of focusing on what is going wrong, we explore what already works well and what the organization wants to see more of.
